A gun belt has one job an ordinary belt cannot do: hold a loaded holster tight to your body all day without rolling, sagging or stretching out. Ours are cut from heavy full grain leather and built stiff on purpose, so the holster stays where you put it and the weight rides on your hips instead of pulling on your waistband.
